According to a report from Edge yesterday, sources who say they have been developing the PlayStation 4 and Xbox 720 have revealed the former will indeed be more powerful than the latter.
The PlayStation 4 will ship with a completely redesigned controller and is going to ship by the end of this year in Japan and the United States, with Europe receiving the system sometime during the first part of 2014.
Wednesday, Feb. 20th, is the day when Sony will unveil its new system as people will get a front row seat in "Seeing the Future." You can view the video teaser that was created for the event below.
The redesigned controller will be the same size as the current DualShock that everyone knows and loves, but it will also include a small touchpad in the center of the device, where the start and select buttons typically reside.

The system's hardware will continually record gameplay of the most recent 15 minutes of action, which users can then edit and post as they please.
As far as details regarding the actual launch of the system goes, the PlayStation 4 will hit stores in Japan and the United States before Christmas, with Europe's launch following after the New Year.
In addition to the console, Sony will introduce a new iteration of its PlayStation Eye peripheral, that will work with the PlayStation Move controller. Move will be available for purchase at launch, but bundles and what not are not yet clear.
